Great Radcliffe’s Bake Off

Over the past few weeks some of the staff of Radcliffe & Co have been taking part in a cake baking competition, with different categories including gluten-free cakes, raising an amazing £152 for local charities.
Staff had to pay to taste slices of Lemon Drizzle, Chocolate Fudge Cake, Lemon Coconut layer cake, Cupcakes with a twist, Apple/blackberry crumble cake, and coffee & walnut cake. Gluten free cakes to choose from were Banana & Nut and Carrot Cake. They then completed a voting form giving marks for presentation and taste.
The three with the highest scores went through to the Bake Off Final, where slices of vanilla sponge with strawberry and champagne buttercream, Chocolate Bonfire Cake and Malteser & Salted caramel Chocolate Cake (all pictured below) were sampled, again voting to find the Radcliffe Star Baker!
Congratulations Lisa Smith on eventually winning with a delightful Malteser & Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake.
We are now considering a Radcliffe diet competition!!
