Alice Tai Update

March 31st, 2015

For those of you not aware, we are proud sponsors of young paralympic swimming sensation Alice Tai, who has already had yet another incredible year having recently been chosen to represent Great Britain at the upcoming World Championships in Glasgow this summer. Her mother, Angie Tai has kept us updated as always with the below.

“Alice has been selected (and will be the youngest GB swimmer) to represent GB at the World Championships this summer in Glasgow. The trials were tough, the qualifying standards have been set at world record pace as the GB management are there to win and some of GB’s best swimmers and paralympic medallist failed to qualify. Alice, thankfully, did qualify and this will give both her and the coaches a true and accurate picture of where she will be for Rio-hopefully on the podium!

In light of this, as it is a home games could you please show your support, not just for Alice but for the rest of the squad and attend the event, or at least mark it in your calendar and tweet messages of support!

Here is the link to the IPC website http://www.paralympic.org/swimming where details of tickets and schedules are found. Alice is an S10 and will be competing in the following events:

50, 100, 400 free

100 back

100 fly

Alice is also in the 4×100 medley relay and possibly the 4×100 freestyle too.

The 100 back is her strongest event and she is currently ranked second in the world. The team are also current world record holders for the relay-and these always prove to be tense events.

There are plenty of hotels in the surrounding areas-if you go a little further out to Hamilton it is cheaper and there are excellent bus links into the city and Tollcross pool.

It would be fabulous for Alice and Team Tai to have as much support as possible-and this will be your chance to see the best in the world as they prepare for Rio.”

What a fantastic acheivement for Alice, good luck in Glasgow from all at Radcliffe & Co!
