| Well – known Southampton businessman Jack Thomas was honoured by his former firm Radcliffe & Company when they named their Bernard Street offices after him.
More than 180 people turned out for the event and Chamber of Commerce president, David Tipple, unveiled a plaque commemorating the occasion and the new name – Thomas House.
Jack, who died suddenly in February this year aged 66, joined the financial advisers in 1990 and became chairman in 1992.
Radcliffe managing director Ted Goodwin said: "He was one of the gentlemen of the industry. This building is a tribute to him and the way he took control of the company and led us to where we are today."
Jack’s daughter Clare said: "We think it is a wonderful gesture and I know my dad would have been very proud, as we all are."
